Itinerary
Your guide meets you at Hosea Kutako Airport for the transfer into Windhoek. Time for a short orientation of the capital, then a welcome dinner and trip briefing.
Drive south-west over the Spreetshoogte Pass, with sweeping views of the Namib plain, arriving at your lodge near Sesriem mid-afternoon. A sundowner walk on the gravel plains and stars from your roof deck.
Through the gate before sunrise to climb a dune as the sand changes colour. Walk out to Deadvlei's ancient camel-thorn trees, then picnic breakfast under an acacia. Afternoon visit to Sesriem Canyon.
Stop for apple pie at Solitaire, cross the Tropic of Capricorn and descend through the Kuiseb Canyon. Arrive in Swakopmund by late afternoon, with time to stroll the seafront.
Morning catamaran cruise on Walvis Bay for dolphins, Cape fur seals and pelicans, with oysters and sparkling wine. Optional afternoon 4×4 excursion to Sandwich Harbour, where the dunes meet the Atlantic, or a free afternoon in town.
A long but scenic drive inland via Omaruru and Outjo, arriving at your lodge on Etosha's southern boundary. Evening at the lodge's floodlit waterhole.
A full day exploring Etosha's waterholes — Okaukuejo, Nebrownii and Gemsbokvlakte — for elephant, black rhino, lion, giraffe and the great herds of springbok and zebra, with lunch at a rest camp inside the park.
Drive back to Windhoek via Otjiwarongo and the Okahandja wood-carvers' market, arriving at the airport by 14:00 for afternoon departures.
